Primary Metering Switchgear
Our single & three phase pad mount & pole top primary metering switchgear are available in 15,kV, 25kV, or 35kV electrical ratings. The pad mount version features a custom built galvanized free-standing frame that accommodate bushing and outdoor rated instrument transformers and is designed to be installed on either a fiberglass box pad or concrete pat at ground level. Our pad mount enclosures mount over the free-standing frame and can be mounted or removed independently for to facility installation.
Our pole top primary metering switchgear are mounted on all aluminum, light weight, custom, primary metering mounts & wired offering flexibility and cost savings of a completely factory-assembled pole top primary metering with the customer’s choice of voltage and current transformers pre-wired and ready to install.
The primary metering switchgear shall be in complete conformance with all applicable NEC, ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA standards in addition to ANSI C57.12.28, Padmounted Equipment Enclosure Integrity Standard.

Pad Mount Metering Key Features

- 200A or 600A Lindsey air insulated bushing 15 kV, 25kV & 35kV electrical rating wells accept IEEE standard inserts and elbow
- Multi-line and load configurations with optional fusing. Cable to air bushings are bolt in type with clamping ring and gasket to allow for field replacement
- Free standing galvanized steel frame with lifting and grounding provisions designed per applicable standards to withstand the electrical and mechanical stresses
- Phase and ground barriers are provided with appropriate clearances for the rated voltage. The barriers shall be made of 3/16” NEMA GPO-3 material
- Stainless steel brackets for easy CT installation or replacement 1/4” clear lexan barrier between meter panel and live parts
- Copper bus bar is offered as an option and sized for the amperage of the bushings supplied
- Available with potential and current transformers installed and wired
- The metering switchgear is housed in fiberglass outdoor, weatherproof enclosure sized to cover the metering switchgear. The enclosure has a (2) hinged double doors with captive penta head bolts and padlocking provisions and removable eyes for lifting enclosure and frame as one unit
- Fiberglass laminate is 3/16″ nominal thickness except where local reinforcement is required
- Enclosure exterior is gel-coated to .014-inch nominal thickness standard and is available in either munsell green, willow green, or light gray colors
- Stainless steel louvers shall be provided with stainless steel screen baffle for adequate air flow and heat dissipation as required for enclosed equipment
- Optional Meter socket installation and wiring optional
- Optional galvanized steel hinged swing out meter mounting panel
- Optional 3/8” solid copper ground bar
- Optional 30” high fiberglass box pad

- Grounding of all transformers bases & mounting assembly – # 4 stranded insulated cooper wire 40 ft long
- Offers flexibility and cost savings of a completely factory-assembled pole top primary metering with the customer’s choice of voltage and current transformers pre-wired and ready to install.
